Same day Ceramic Crowns, Inlays & Onlays (CEREC)

Our practice has invested in the latest dental technology to make dental restorations (ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays) much faster and easier for you. It is now possible to complete your treatment on the same day, usually in a single visit

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is dental technology that allows us to help restore issues with your teeth must faster than traditional treatments – usually in a single visit and without the need for temporary fillings or uncomfortable moulds.

Using computer aided design and manufacturing, we can quickly take precise scans of your teeth to make a mould on the spot. The non-invasive digital imaging makes the whole process much faster and more comfortable than traditional dental treatments. No more messy plaster moulds!

The other major benefit of using CEREC technology is speed.

Compared to the traditional method, where you would need to return for a follow up appointment to complete your treatment, using CEREC technology means we can proceed to making your ceramic restoration straight away – usually while you wait.

How does CEREC technology work?

  • A digital scanner is used to take an impression of your teeth.

  • This produces a 3D image used to make a mould – more accurate that traditional plaster impressions.

  • We use moulded ceramic to create a realistic looking restoration (crown, inlay, onlay or veneer) that is very durable.

  • We carefully match the colour to the rest of your teeth and spend time precisely moulding your restoration so that it will fit seamlessly into your surrounding teeth.

  • Treatment can be completed in single visit with no temporary fittings or no messy moulds.

CEREC technology can be used for all types of ceramic restorations – veneers, ceramic crowns, onlays and inlays – to create natural looking smiles.
